Resolution Limits for the Noisy Non-Adaptive 20 Questions Problem

چکیده
We establish fundamental limits on estimation accuracy for the noisy 20 questions problem with measurement-dependent noise and introduce optimal non-adaptive procedures that achieve these limits. The minimal achievable resolution is defined as absolute difference between estimated true locations of a target over unit cube, given finite number queries constrained by excess-resolution probability. Inspired relationship channel coding problem, we derive non-asymptotic bounds to estimate location. Furthermore, applying Berry--Esseen theorem our bounds, obtain second-order asymptotic approximation query subject probability constraint. specialize results versions several models including binary symmetric, erasure Z- channels. As complement, achievability bound adaptive querying use this benefit querying.

This paper considers the problem of adaptively searching for an unknown target using multiple agents connected through a time-varying network topology. Agents are equipped with sensors capable of fast information processing, and we propose a decentralized collaborative algorithm for controlling their search given noisy observations. Specifically, we propose decentralized extensions of the adapt...
متن کامل20 questions on adaptive dynamics.
Adaptive Dynamics is an approach to studying evolutionary change when fitness is density or frequency dependent. Modern papers identifying themselves as using this approach first appeared in the 1990s, and have greatly increased up to the present. However, because of the rather technical nature of many of the papers, the approach is not widely known or understood by evolutionary biologists. In ...
متن کاملNon-adaptative Policies for 20 Questions Target Localization
The problem of the target localization with noise is considered. The target is a sample from a continuous random variable with known distribution and the goal is to locate this target with minimum mean squared error. The localization scheme or policy proceeds by queries, or questions, weather or not the target belongs to some subset as it is addressed in the 20-question framework. These subsets...
متن کاملUncomputably Noisy Ergodic Limits
V’yugin [2, 3] has shown that there are a computable shift-invariant measure on 2 and a simple function f such that there is no computable bound on the rate of convergence of the ergodic averages Anf . Here it is shown that in fact one can construct an example with the property that there is no computable bound on the complexity of the limit; that is, there is no computable bound on how complex...
